Chana dal is a common pantry staple in India and is used in both savoury and sweet dishes! Chana dal is a fantastic source of plant-based protein as it is made from chickpeas. It is also a fantastic source of B-complex-vitamins, which play a useful role in regulating blood sugar levels and metabolism. They are also incredibly high in fibre, magnesium, iron, potassium and zinc. There is no need to soak chana dal before cooking, however, it will quicken cook time. To cook, ensure you use at least 3 times more liquid to dal and cook until soft and tender, about 1 hour. Store all Scoop pantry items in an airtight container and keep in a cool, dry place.
